THE LANSDOWNE COLLECTOR The Magazine of the Lansdowne Collectors' Club "The Lansdowne Collector" is the magazine of the Lansdowne Collectors Club, and as such is only available to Lansdowne Collectors' Club Members.
It is issued four times a year, in January, April, July, and October. The magazine is a mine of information on all things which are Lansdowne (or Robeddie Models) related, and is a indispensable part of anyone's library who is interested in the small scale versions of the full size classics. The latest issue (March-May 2008) of "The Lansdowne Collector" has just been published. Issue No. 35, which incidentally, includes reviews, by our regular contributor, Dave Turner, on the Lansdowne Models Jensen3.5 litre S-Type Saloon, and from the Brooklin range, the '37 Lincoln Model K ,the '57 Rambler Super Cross Country Station Wagon, and the 1952 Cunningham C-3 Coupé (New colour). Our staff reviewer Carl Richardson offers his opinions on the 1964 Sunbeam Alpine Race Car, including a quite detailed history of the car, and its driver's racing achievements in the States whilst, our editor, Bob Timmis, casts his critical eye over the same model. Mike Coupe contributes his usual Lansdowne Popularity Sales Chart for the final quarter of 2007, plus the overall chart for the year, plus an overview of the Wolseley car in model form. As usual, the magazine is full of coloured photographs illustrating the articles. Finally, members are reminded that they should be ordering the Collectors Club Model for 2008 now, if they want one, and just to remind you, its the Lagonda 2.6 Convertible with the hood in closed position, colour yellow, with pale beige interior, and a darker beige hood. Just contact Bob Timmis on the email below, or telephone him. As usual, the models mark of authenticity will be the numbered certificate; without it, the model may not be genuine. Why not join the Lansdowne Collectors' Club. You will not only receive this superb quarterly magazine, but you will also be able to take advantage of the limited issue club model. You can contact Bob Timmis by e-mail at lansdowne@robeddie.wanadoo.co.uk, or at Bob's personal e-mail, robert.timmis@robeddie.wanadoo.co.uk , or by telephone on 01925 730504, or even write to him at 203, Northwich Road, Lower Stretton, Warrington, Cheshire WA4 4PF. |
